In our division Embedded Solutions at our sites Freiburg or Villingen-Schwenningen, we seek to appoint as soon as possible for a R & D scientific research group leader or senior researcher (m/f/x) as
Group leader or senior researcher (m/f/x) Wearable Systems & Digital Health
Your tasks
- research and development in the area of embedded medical sensor systems, embedded electronics and Digital Health, in particular on personalised wearable and mobile systems
- development of methods for model-driven system design and/or pattern recognition/AI
- Group leader: coordination & development of a research group, including staff management, acquisition of research funding, scientific publications in wearable computing, computer science and embedded systems
- definition of research themes and strategy, coordination of research projects consortia
- integration into the scientific network of Hahn-Schickard and at the University of Freiburg
- collaboration in cross-domain teams
Your profile
- Ph.D. in electrical engineering, medical engineering, computer science or related disciplines as well as specific scientific experience in the field of wearable computing or embedded systems, demonstrated by scientific publications
- experience in several of the following areas: AI, additive manufacturing/printed electronics, sensor interfaces, medical validation studies, medical device conformity assessment
- ideally experience in the management of research projects
- interest in wearables, applications and spin-offs
- creativity, initiative, team-oriented working style and entrepreneurial mindset
- excellent language skills in English and -if applicable- willingness to timely acquire the German language
