Hahn-Schickard coordinates the Cluster for Future nanodiag BW - Nanoporentechnologie für die Diagnostik der Zukunft. In this context we offer the following full-time position (m/f/x) in our Microelectronics Group at Freiburg im Breisgau, beginning from autumn 2023 (or later) as

PhD /Research Scientist (m/f/x) Microelectronics for Solid-State Nanopores

Your tasks

  • Research on a new readout circuit concept for high resolution signal conditioning from solid-state nanopores.
  • Transfer for the developed concept into a microelectronic circuit (analog/mixed-signal).
  • Development of a test setup for your circuit, including the bring-up, characterization and documentation of the fabricated circuit
  • Documentation and reporting for internal and external partners.Publication of your research results in peer-reviewed conference proceedings and journals.
  • Support in writing new research proposals in your working area.

Your profile

  • Master in microelectronics, in the field of electrical engineering or microsystems engineering with very good grade
  • Interested in research with focus on new and innovative circuit concepts ant its implementations
  • Desire and willingness to perform a PhD
  • Strong knowledge in the field of analog circuit design, coupled with knowledge and/or willingness to become familiar with electrochemical topics
  • Initial experience in analog design flow for microelectronic circuit implementation using Cadence IC Tools.
  • Very good lanuage skills in English or German and -if applicable- willingness to timely acquire the German language
